A cutting and serving board in acacia, built from small end-grain blocks in a checkerboard (ichimatsu, 市松) so the light and dark grain alternate across the surface. End grain is kinder to knives and heals its own cuts. Use the small one for bread and cheese at the table, the large one at the counter.
