Deep indigo (kon, 紺) plates with a hand-painted white pattern: a spiral circle, a dandelion burst, a scatter of leaves, or fine ribbed lines. Because each is brushed by hand, the strokes wander a little from plate to plate. Choose the 8-inch for breakfast and dessert, the 10-inch for dinner.
