A full-size linen napkin (rin, 麟 — the fine weave), 45 cm square, in nine muted colours: white, natural flax, caramel, ginger, matcha, grey blue, fog grey, grey and mauve grey. Linen gets softer and more crumpled with every wash and looks better for it. Fold one under the chopsticks, or drape it over the bread basket.
