A round floor cushion woven from natural straw (wara, 藁), 6 cm thick, for sitting on the floor the way you do at a low tea table. Firm enough to hold its shape, soft enough for an hour of meditation. Stack a few by the window; they look good even when nobody is sitting on them.

Hand-woven natural straw, 6 cm thick. 40, 45 or 60 cm across. Keep dry; wipe with a dry cloth and air in a warm spot if it gets damp.
